Business Controller - to £47,500

This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate who is motivated by the drive to succeed and inspired by the challenge created in the workplace.

The successful candidate will be a natural leader looking to develop into an ambassador in their field of expertise and be an inspirational manager to more junior staff. The role encompasses also the management of the controlling departments across three subsidiaries located in Ireland, Germany and Netherlands as well as preparation of consolidated reports for the Board.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

- Providing commercial and financial support to the management team
- Consistent application of policies and procedure
- Financial planning and budget procedure
- Managing more junior staff and carrying out performance management
- Improving retail performance
- Commercial and Financial analysis
- Produce financial plans, budgets and forecasts
- Achieve targets and objectives proposed and to a degree of excellence
- Acting as an ambassador for the business
- Providing a challenging and stimulating working environment
- Better integrating controlling procedures throughout the subsidiaries

The Person

- Qualified Accountant
- Excellent technical accounting skills
- VAT, Corporate Tax and SOX Legislation Knowledge
- Investment appraisal experience
- Understanding of the retail business
- Management experience
- A Natural Leader
- The ability motivate and be motivated striving towards a goal
- The ability to transform business objectives into concrete targets and actions
- Ability to exercise good commercial judgement
