Chemical Process Static Equipment Engineer
Our client is acting as Project Management Consultant (PMC)
for a Saudi Arabian client who intends to build a Polyethylene
plant. The contract for the Engineering , Procurement and
Construction (EPC) of the plant has been let to a contractor
located in Dresden, Germany. Our client has established a
small PMC team in the EPC contractor's offices in Dresden
to monitor the work of the EPC contractor and ensure that
work is performed in accordance with project requirements.
The Static Equipment Engineer is one member of the PMC team.
The Static Equipment Engineer will be responsible for the
following equipment:
- pressure vessels ( including process columns, reactors,
separators, drums)
- heat exchangers ( shell and tube, air cooled, proprietary)
- storage tanks
The above items of static equipment will be manufactured
by equipment vendors selected by the EPC contractor.
Key aspects of the Static Equipment role:
- Review EPC contractor enquiry and purchase material requisitions
to ensure project requirements are passed on to equipment
vendors
- Review EPC contractor selections of equipment vendors
( attending clarification meetings as required)
- Attend kick-off, pre inspection and troubleshooting meetings
in vendors works as required
- Review EPC contractor and vendor deliverables ( drawings
, calculations, procedures) for compliance with project
requirements
- Review and advise on EPC contractor requests for specification
waiver as required
- Provide technical support to project on general static
equipment issues
- Assist other members of the PMC team is related areas
( eq construction, planning, plant layout)
The Static Equipment engineer will be able to call on the
specialist expertise of the Reading home office.
Qualification:
- 10+ Years Experience working with Static chemical equipment
in chemical / petrochemical plants
- Degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Process Engineering
- Minimum 8 years experience in EPC projects
- Prior Experience with one or more projects working in
a Project Management Consultant.
- Experience in all of the following areas: Planning, Design,
Tender-evaluation, Purchasing, Construction, Commissioning,
