The company has a net production exceeding 500,000 barrels of oil equivalents per day from fields in the Danish and British parts of the North Sea, offshore Qatar, in Algeria and in Kazakhstan. This major international company is now seeking a qualified:

Senior Mechanical Engineer

The right candidate has a high level of activity and is experiencing ongoing development of both existing and new fields. Thus, the company is looking for an experienced mechanical engineer with minimum 5 years’ of mechanical design experience related to petrochemical, power plant, or process industry.

The position
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be part of the Engineering Department/Facilities Engineering, located in Esbjerg. The position reports to the head of mechanical, piping & structure engineering. They generate 420 MW power by means of 62 gas turbines which is absorbed in various types of pumps, compressors and other types of mechanical equipment. Specification, retrofitting, optimisation and trouble shooting hereof will be a central part of the job. General facilities engineering services such as specification of process equipment, piping, mechanical and structure design, co-ordination with consultants, construction, elaboration and updating of company technical standards and further ad hoc assistance is also foreseen. Co-operation with production departments, vendors and specialists worldwide and offshore visits are key words. The work takes place in an international inspiring and dynamic environment.

The position includes:
- Specification of mechanical equipment
- Vendor inspections and audits
- Offshore installation, hook-up and commissioning
- Ad hoc engineering assistance

The person
The applicant must be self motivating, effective, analytical and practical. He/she must have advanced design experience within mechanical engineering as well as experience within the following fields:
- Rotating equipment
- Design codes and standards
- Material specification
