Established in 1962, our client is an oil company operating an oil production of more than 550,000 barrels per day and a sales gas production of up to some 1,000 million cubic feet per day. The company has a net production exceeding 500,000 barrels of oil equivalents per day from fields in the Danish and British parts of the North Sea, offshore Qatar, in Algeria and in Kazakhstan. Activities are ongoing in the Danish, British, German and Norwegian sectors of the North Sea, Qatar, Algeria, Angola, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Oman, Morocco, Colombia, Brazil and Surinam. This major international company is now seeking a qualified:

Senior Instrumentation Engineer

The right candidate is an experienced Instrumentation Engineer with minimum 5 years’ experience with design of control and safety systems and experience with the Petrochemical or similar industry, i.e. installations in an explosive environment.

The position

The Instrumentation Engineer will be working in the Facilities Engineering Section in Esbjerg and will report to the Head of Instrument Engineering. The candidate will be part of a highly qualified team that works with a large variety of tasks ranging from day to day production support to the design of SCADA and Safety Systems for new platforms. Some of the Instrumentation Engineer’s tasks are:

- Conceptual studies
- Detailed engineering of minor modification jobs
- Participation in design and safety reviews
- Participation in offshore audits
- Perform Factory Acceptance Test
- Project site support and supervision
- Offshore installation, hook-up and commissioning
- Project coordination and budget control

Experience

The successful candidate must have advanced design experience in field instrumentation, control, and safety systems, including:

- Safety systems acc. To IEC 61508/ 511
- Defining and specifying control algorithms and systems
- Fieldbusses
- Network topologi and standards
- Familiar with Danish, European and International codes and regulations

Besides the above professional skills, the successful candidate possesses analytical skills and the ability to take the initiative.
