Superintendent - Egypt
Established in 1962, our client
is an oil company operating an oil production
of more than 550,000 barrels per day and a sales
gas production of up to some 1,000 million cubic
feet per day. The company has a net production
exceeding 500,000 barrels of oil equivalents
per day from fields in the Danish and British
parts of the North Sea, offshore Qatar, in Algeria
and in Kazakhstan.
Activities are ongoing in the Danish, British,
German and Norwegian sectors of the North Sea,
Qatar,
Algeria,
Angola, Kazakhstan,
Turkmenistan,
Oman, Morocco,
Colombia,
Brazil and Surinam.
Our client designs, develops
and operates a global fleet of advanced drilling
rigs. The rigs are designed to operate in extreme
conditions, and the oil companies lease the
rigs and personnel for exploration. Our client
also develops and operates a mobile fleet of
oil production ships. At the headquarters in
Copenhagen and at local shore bases, they
are building the strategic, technological and
administrative foundation for their offshore
operations.
We are currently seeking a
Roving Field Superintendent on behalf of our
client, who will perform projects in cooperation
with the Egyptian Drilling Company (EDC) in
Cairo.
The Roving Field Superintendent is responsible
for assisting in all areas relating to drilling
and work-over operation and for ensuring, through
planning, that resources are utilized in the
most effective way. You will work very closely
with other staff in the Operations department
and reporting to the Operation Management.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting the Operations
Management in providing leadership in all
areas related to the operation and supporting
relevant Rig Superintendents.
- Providing leadership
in all areas related to the daily rig operation
- Ensuring that the
requirements of the General Management System
are adhered to, and that initiatives are taken
to prepare, issue
and maintain procedures when required.
- Following up on budget
and cost control matters relating to the rigs.
- Following up on maintenance
on the rigs.
- Establishing and
fostering good relations with employees, customers
and operations staff.
- Keeping the Operations
Managements well informed about activities
related to the operation at all times.
- Following up on audits
The ideal candidate:
- Minimum 2 years
experience from offshore drilling operations
as Assistant Driller
- Be flexible and prepared
to travel
- Be fluent in English
- written and spoken

to travel worldwide, to be assigned to projects
and possibly be expatriated for shorter or longer
periods of time.
